Team Announcements ![]() Trenton Holden Wins Wrestling National ChampionshipGrass Lake Wrestling Club Coach Dave Allen reported that George Long Elementary School 1st Grader, Trenton Holden, won the NUWAY National Championship held at the Kellogg Center in Battle Creek on Saturday April 17th. Wrestlers competed from Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. Trenton wrestled 5 matches and won with 5 PINS! Trenton is the National Champion!! Great Wrestling Trenton!!

Cody and Dylan were both named to the Cit Pat Dream Team, which encompasses all divisions. John was named to the All-Area Division 4 team. Justin and Paul were both honorable mentions on the divisional team. John is the only senior of the group, which leaves us with an excellent core for an exciting season next year.

Trenton Holden has repeated as State Champion and completed another undefeated season winning 11-0 in the finals! Outstanding Wrestling Trenton and Congratulations!! Stevie Suliman finished in third place after making it to the finals, MYWAY allows the third place wrestlers to wrestle for a true second place if they have not wrestled earlier in the tournament. Stevie had an excellent season and wrestled very well defeating a previously unbeaten wrestler in the semi-finals to reach the finals. Great wrestling Stevie!! Corey Decker finished in 4th place in the HS 1994-1995 division, Corey did some excellent wrestling. Great Wrestling Corey!! Paul Grysko finished in 6th place after making it to the semi-finals. Paul wrestled very well against some outstanding wrestlers. Great wrestling Paul! Spencer Good finished in 8th place, Spencer won a close match 2-1 to make it to the final eight and the honer of becoming an All State Wrestler. Great wrestling Spencer! To qualify, each wrestler must have had at least a 4th place finish in their division.

Dylan and Cody closed out brilliant seasons as they were both defeated by wrestlers who eventually made their way to the State Championship round Saturday, March 6. We look forward to future successes for these wrestlers, and the Grass Lake wrestling program, next year.

Sixteen local wrestlers kept their state-title hopes alive with first-round wins at The Palace of Auburn Hills.All but one of the 12 local qualifiers in Division 4 won. The lone loss came from John Vuocolo of Grass Lake, who lost to Joe Ericson of Springport. Five local qualifiers are on pace to repeat as state placers. In Division 3, Brent Anuszkiewicz of Lumen Christi finished third last year. In Division 4, Brandon Fifield and Ryan Kemplin of Leslie each finished sixth, and Drew Harding of Springport was second. Radabaugh pinned Tyler Connelly of East Jackson in the 171-pound championship, and Vuocolo repeated as league champion after earning a 9-7 decision at 189 pounds over Brandon Goethals of Addison. Last season, Vuocolo won the 171-pound title and was the area's lone repeat winner. Click here to see the full story in the Jackson Citizen Patriot ![]() Grass Lake Varsity Wrestlers Win Concord Invitational ChampionshipThe Grass Lake High School Varsity Wrestling team won the championship in the 11-team Concord Grove Invitational on Saturday December 5. Grass Lake captured five individual championships and two runner-up finishes as the Warriors successfully defended their title.
Freshman Paul Rankin, at 125 pounds, won for Grass Lake, along with freshman Frank Vuocolo at 140. The Warriors' other three champions were Dylan Radabaugh at 171, John Vuocolo at 189 and Cody Radabaugh at 189. Dylan and Cody Radabaugh won at this meet last year, while John Vuocolo finished runner-up. Grass Lake's other wrestlers to make the finals were Corey Decker at 152 and Ridge DeRosia at 103.
